Duties:

Reports to the Manager of Housing.  Performs a wide range of maintenance and repair duties within multiple Public Housing portfolio buildings.

Work Performed:

·         Performs general maintenance and minor repairs to all buildings within the public housing portfolio.

·         Provides operational support through scheduling and co-coordinating routine, annual and emergency repairs and maintenance.

·         Responds to or reports tenant inquires or maintenance requests in accordance with established procedures.

·         Conducts move out, unit and building inspections.

·         Handles cleaning materials, supplies and tools.

·         Re-keys units and performs locksmith duties; keeps keys organized.

·         Reports defective conditions or indications of trouble to the appropriate housing staff member.

·         Assists in maintaining a safe work environment.

·         Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

·         Community College Diploma (1 year) in Renovation Techniques/Construction/Carpentry.

·         Minimum 3-6 months related professional experience.

·         Valid Driver's Licence (Class G).

Specialized Skills, Abilities, Training, License, Memberships, or Certifications

Knowledge of relevant legislation, including Building and related Codes, Housing Services Act and the Residential Tenancies Act.

Ability to obtain a Criminal Reference Check.
