Work Performed:

  • Reporting to the Day Camp Supervisor, the Day Camp Assistant Supervisor provides superior customer service, projecting a positive image for the City of Stratford, being both courteous and respectful to customers and members of the community.
  • Take responsible action in caring for the welfare of all participants.
  • Promote the aims, objectives and mottos of the City of Stratford.
  • Assist the Recreation Services Coordinator and Playground Supervisor in staff training and evaluation of the Day Camp Program.
  • Assist in the review and approval of program plans submitted by day camp leaders.
  • Attend and supervise pool swims, and arrange staff for various duties.
  • Cover shifts in the event that staff are sick.
  • Arrange special events/activities.
  • Assist in staff meetings and trainings.
  • To assume the responsibilities and duties of the Playground Supervisor when he/she is absent from work, and/or at the discretion of the Recreation Services Coordinator
  • Assists in maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

    • Current First Aid/CPR certificate.
    • Previous experience in working with children and youth.
    • Previous experience in recreation programming is an asset.
    • High Five (Principles of Healthy Child Development) certification is an asset.
    • Please be advised that the City of Stratford will conduct background screenings prior to commencing employment.
