Work Performed:

  • Reporting to the Lions Pool Supervisor, the Instructor/Lifeguard provides superior customer service, projecting a positive image for the City of Stratford, being both courteous and respectful to customers and members of the community.
  • Take responsible action in caring for the welfare of all participants.
  • Promote the aims, objectives and motto’s of the City of Stratford, Canadian Red Cross Society and Lifesaving Society of Canada.
  • Ensure pool rules are enforced.
  • Plan, implement and supervise lessons for all required levels.
  • Communicate with parents regarding their child’s progress.
  • Maintain daily records.
  • Participate in facility operations.
  • Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current First Aid/CPR certificate.
  • Current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructors (Preschool 1-5 and Swimmer 1-11)
  • Current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Service.
  • Please be advised that the City of Stratford will conduct background screenings prior to commencing employment.
